Which Orlando, Fl RN evening school is a good one?

Published

Hi everyone,

i am a dental hygienist looking to go to an evening RN program that would accept my old prerequisites. Please tell me if you think this is a bad idea? Also, does anyone know about Herzing University in Orlando, Florida's program? Is is a good nursing school and will other schools accept their credits for a BSN program? Help?!

Go to collegescorecard.edu.gov to start to evaluate schools. Stay away from for-profits especially anything run by Educationl Management Corporation (South University) or anything run by University of Phoenix. They are schools with high tuition and very low graduation and retention rates. And besides they are financially on the skids.

As far as the school you mentioned all I can say is investigate thoroughly. Do online reseach and ask lots of questions. A school must have decent success metrics or you are playing Russian roulett with a lot of time and money on the line.

Also well established schools are the ones you should seriously consider even if they have a waiting list. Any school that has few admission standards like for profits should be held suspect and again excluded from consideration. Good luck and be extremely cautious with your decision.
