What nursing skills do you absolutely hate doing? Even if it is super easy and not time consuming? Which orders do you read and just think to yourself, aw man! I hate doing that!! I'm just curious!
I hate doing dressing changes. (I think b/c we get a lot of gangrene wounds... and they stink!)
I also loathe hanging blood! I don't know why... it isn't difficult
And of course enemas and disimpactions aren't too fun either!
I also hate giving eye and ear drops. I don't know why...
I also hate having to collect stool samples... ewwww the idea of scooping up the poop into the little cup... gross
Everybody is talking about what smells they hate- colostomy bags, c diff- the place i used to work had a patient who was not very clean "down there" and even the HALLWAY smelled like... that.... eww.
And I agree, I HATE anything to do with trachs/suctioning!
I'm in my first clinical semester. I had my first C-Diff patient last week, and had myself all steeled up to deal with the odor, and then...there wasn't one! She had a rectal tube in, and I didn't have to empty it since she left the floor for a test pretty early in the day, so I guess that's why? I'll have to conquer that one another week...
In my peds office I would have to say irrigating ears. Thyey either scream or jerk away with water going every where. Not to mention the amt of q tip material that comes out and the parent swearing they never put a q tip in their childs ear LOL
Saying "Is there anything else I can get you because [say it with me...] I HAVE THE TIME!!!!"
OMG!!! u must work at the hospital where i work.... that AIDET thing..... its kinda goofy.... i always try to be nice to my patients and inform them of whats going on...... who tha hell ever came up with that AIDET should be horse whipped :) well... maye thats a little harsh!

Cleaning up emesis, especially projectile and espcially GI bleed projectile....I'll gladly add those to your list.
And with all those things listed it's imperative that one not make faces and make the patients feel worse than they already do for making the mess.
