Hello! So I start nursing school in the fall and I am trying to get everything ready. One of the things I'm considering is buying a new tablet/laptop to take to class for notes and recording lectures. I currently have a laptop but it's too heavy to carry around. I'm interested in the Surface 3 or the pro 3.

It would be great if anyone could give me some advice or tell me which laptop/table they use and if would recommend.

Thanks in advance!

I bought my boyfriend a Surface Pro 3 for Christmas and he loves it. It's great because it works just like a computer with all of the same programs, but you can use it like a tablet (the keyboard was only $100).

I'm biased because I really love my MacBook Pro, but if I were to need something else I would probably get the Surface Pro 3.

I also LOOOOVVVVEEEEE my MacBook Pro, but if you're looking for something light then maybe the tablet is the way to go.

I like a laptop personally because my educational institution uses a few programs that are not currently programed for a Mac. Now this is specific to certain programs and computer access.

However, I personally like the Windows model. While a tablet is nice and functional. I still like the power of a laptop, (one that I can build or add on to). Also Tablets are nice and you can access many online book sites/programs. However, some of the tablets have limited USB ports to add more gadgets too.

Good luck on your purchases.

If I were going to school today and had to get a computer for use, I would go with a laptop that has a touch screen. Why? There were quite a few times where it would have been nice to be able to "write" or draw on my notes that I took in class. As long as the laptop isn't one of those bargain brand/models, you will likely be able to do just about anything you'll ever need during school, and possibly for quite a while beyond that. Mine has lasted (so far) 4 years and it works great.
