I am a new grad and am relocating to Denver, CO. I have had interviews at Swedish Medical Center and Medical Center of Aurora. If I happen to get offered a job at both, does anyone have any thoughts on which hospital is better to work at? When I mean "better", I am talking about new grad orientation, staffing, atmosphere? Thanks. :)
Although I have not worked at either...Sweedish has a much better reputation. I have not heard good things about Aurora MC.

I know many RN's who work at Medical Center of Aurora (MCA or AMC). I don't know of any of those RN's who are happy there.

Hi,
My girlfriend works at Porter as a resp. therapist and she says it is a good hospital with good orientation for new nurses. I considered working there but too far to drive for me. I have an interview this week with Lutheran today (part of Exempla), which also has a good reputation.
Good luck

Glad to hear that Porter is a good hospital. It is funny that you mention Exempla, I just got a call from St. Joseph's Hospital and got scheduled an interview. Good luck with your interview!

ditto here...have not heard good things about Aurora. Have not had the greatest experiences there (with relatives) either. I wonder if there are any nurses out there who have a more inside knowledge of Aurora MC??
So maybe this explains the outrageous sign on bonuses they have advertised......hmmmmm
