[color=#3e3e3e]hi there! i'm confused & i really need help (again!)! i'm new to allnurses & i'm really excited i found this forum! i've been an rt for 20+ years & i've decided to start excelsior rt to rn program. my problem is that my aas degree in respiratory care is from a non-regionally accredited university, so none of my credits will transfer & i have to start my aas degree from scratch! my question is, what cleps can i take to satisfy my general education requirements or any requirements? i would also appreciate any other info, advice or tips on the best way to proceed! i've wanted to do this for so long, yet i've procrastinated for so long; i just need to know where to start so i can get my butt in gear! it's scary starting over at 41! i was recently laid off so i now have time to give school 100%!(btw- my 22 year-old daughter will graduate with a bsn in nursing in december & a dear friend of mine got her rn from excelsior last year, so at least i'll have a tutor!) thanks so much for any help!

Hey Tracy,

Post your email address and we can talk, because I have a very similar story except for the 41 part. I only wish I was 41 again!! It's awesome that you have a friend who has gone through Excelsior. I only know one friend who attempted to do it but she failed a class and never went back to finish. You can dig all of your questions out of these forums but it is just very time consuming and unfortunately, you can't send private messages unti you've contributed 15 helpful posts.

Also, straighterline is a another option if you need it. I used it for some of my pre-req credits.

Tracy,

I was able to send you a private message, but if you look on the thread page of Excelsior college, I posted a couple of comments under Excelsior ALEKS math and here's another link to one I posted on CLEP exams.

If you're not working, you can get through your general eds really fast, so don't be discouraged!
