Hi,
I have a semester off before I start nursing school and I'm considering taking a non-required class. Which one would you recommend:
Phlebotomy or Medical Terminology?
Thanks for all your impute and recommendations.
I would take medical terminology, if you had to make a choice.
Medical terminology is not required in my program, however, some students did take it to learn more about it.
Because of this, when we were new in the program, they had a better understanding of this foundation and when "oddball" answers were given on our exams, they knew more of the vocabulary than those of us that didn't have it...and therefore, could reason through questions better.
They did better than me on our exams.

Like others have said, you learn the terms during the courses... although a class would certainly give you a leg-up... Phlebotomy... most nursing schools do IV Cert, if you can do that... you can do blood draws - just in reverse. However, you could work as a Phlebotomist during school if needed!
So... either one would have their perks! I say do both!!!
