Which BSN programs available?

U.S.A. Michigan

My sister who live in Detroit is trying to get into a BSN, U of D we're looking at. I didn't know which is the best to try for. I live in New York and all the ADN programs you need a 3.8 or higher to get in. Now the BSN you need about a 3.0. How is it in Detroit? If anyone out there goes to U of D, I was wondering if you attend the school for the prereqs and maintain a 2.5, that when you finish the prereqs your automatically in the Nursing Clinical Phase.

Hi, I recieved my BSN from Eastern Michigan University. It was VERY competitive there. People with 3.5 did not get in. Not sure about the other BSN programs.

Wayne State is really difficult to get into. Just heard from a family friend that their daughter got in after 3 years of prereqs and is super excited because her GPA was actually lower than most of the applicants with like a 3.8 or something.

WMU does not have a wait list. You have one year of pre-reqs that is by no means easy and with a good gpa in the sciences you can get in.

Thank so much for the info, I'll pass it on to her. I better be thankful I'm in New york right now. It very, very competive here for the ADN but not as much for the BSN. I'm going to encourage her to apply to all programs in Detroit Area

Specializes in Orthosurgery, Rehab, Homecare.

I went to eastern michigan university for undergrad and am attending wayne state for grad school. Both are/were good. Madonna, UofD, UofM, Washtenaw Community College, Wayne County Community College District, and MSU also have good programs from what I hear.

Thanks everyone so much. I called U of D. They told me that if she maintain a 2.5 and complete all the prereqs she's will be in the program. The only problem is that she apply for the ADN programs 1st and didn't get in. So now she have to take allot more prereqs before she get started. However, I think it will be worth it to get into a BSN program. The program I'm in is only a ADN program in New York. She wants this very much so I have to keep encourage her.

Specializes in n/a.

U of D is little bit expensive tho.
