Which is better? Day or Night shift for new grad?

Hi Everyone! I got an offer today for a Med/Surg position :D After 10 months of persistent job hunting after graduation, somebody finally wants me lol So I was offered either day or night shift.... I want to hear some opinions about it. I'm an early bird and thinks i'm a day person... however, if I must do nights.. I will.

So my concern is.... WHICH shift is better for a new grad? In terms of learning and getting comfortable with the unit ...etc.

These posts are making me feel much better -- I have a job offer for night shift right after I graduate not my first shift choice. If it helps me hone my time management skills, it will be well worth the adjustment!

I love the night shift. I have little kids and I get to spend more time with them. Plus I get more $$ for working nights. I feel like most (not all) night nurses rock. We work as a team and are odd in a good way. Day shift has its perks too, but I just cannot get myself up that early in the am to work. Forget that!
