Which would benefit me?

Published

I need to raise my gpa, right now I'm at a 2.89 and would like to be at a 3.0. My school requires you to have at least a 2.5. I have 4 classes ( not required by the nursing program) I failed years ago that can help bring up my gpa or I can take 2 courses required for the bsn, which one should I take?

Do I take the ones I failed or take the ones required if I ever decide to go the bsn route?

Please note I am trying to go for my adn just want to know which would look better when my application is reviewed?

I suggest you take the ones required by the BSN route first, then go back an see if you still have the time (and/or money) to take two of the four classes that you failed (this should even your GPA out). I also suggest this because if the nursing program doesn't require it (either because the classes your failed are general courses or it doesn't pertain to nursing) then why make it your first priority? Now I'm not saying to not go back and tidy up your GPA (who woudn't) but to first see where your priorites stand, and finding a way that better helps and prepares you to obtain that priority in the long run.

I wish you the best of luck.
