Whether or whether not to re-schedule the nclex-pn exam?

Published

Hello, I am seeking advice from those who have taken the nclex-pn for a second try. My first attempt was in May, and was unsuccessful. I only studied Pearson's Exam Cram and scanned over my lab values on first attempt. I was confident knowing that I'd received a 90% chance of passing nclex first try. Then the day approached, and my nerves got the best of me. I scheduled for 8 am that morning, knowing I'm not a morning person I thought that bright and early would ensure best testing performance. So I took one break, my mind kept wandering the entire time and my confidence level dwindled question after question. It had the max of 205 questions, which I've read that means the computer hadn't made a pass/fail decision until the very last question. Also, my CPR results were near the passing standard in every subject except "Coordinated Care" was below, and "Psychosocial" was above the passing standard.

Over the past 5 weeks, I have studied Rinehart & Assoc. book and CD from a review class from another student (they were very nice to lend to me), practiced 85-100 questions daily from nclex 3000, purchased Frye's nursing bullets book which I've read twice, and finally I've completed the Smith NCLEX-PN Review book and CD. Overall, I feel prepared to sit for this exam again. I have re-scheduled twice -- now can someone please give me some advice and great relaxation techniques? Thank you so much for reading and sharing. God Bless!
