Where's the difficulty?

For the past 3 weeks my facility has been out of shampoo. These are the same folk who are pushing for better resident grooming yet, they cannot/will not/forgot to stock up on shampoo. We have a million bottles of conditioner, but where's the shampoo?

I have informed the charge nurse, the DON and basically anyone who can make shampoo happen. I went out and picked up a bottle for the residents I had to bathe last night. This is plain old ridiculous. Sheesh

So what supplies are you in need of?

We have urine yellow and surgical green.

Anybody have any other colors of the rainbow?

We have the yellow and green, too.

I wish whoever ordered supplies would pay attention to the toothbrush stock. We get notes that we don't chart on oral care, but how can we if we can't get a toothbrush??

We have yellow-orange, body wash/shampoo, it comes in a gallon jug, and a ghastly cucumber melon scent.

I wish we could have underpads that actually absorb liquid! They've been trying to save money by ordering these cheap, thin, blue pads that don't work. We end up changing the entire bed, and using way more attends than needed, because the pads leak after someone spits on them!

We had the same problem during clinicals in my CNA class. The LTC facility had all the supplies we needed to do our job except for towels and wash cloths.

Oy. We usually have everything, but the other day we were down to like 2 of those temp-dot disposable thermometers, and I could not find the ear one for the life of me! I was thinking I was gonna have to raid the residents' bathrooms and hope they kept their own thermometers just so I could do all my vitals!
