I have finally decided to take the plunge and start the path to becoming a nurse. I have already completed my B.A. and would be interested in an accelerated nursing program. I will need to take all the pre-reqs somewhere since my B.A.was in English/Journalism.
What colleges in the NYC area (since I already live here) have people attended that have good reputations for the pre-reqs that are required. Which schools are affordable?
I am looking into the NYU program as my top choice, so I would want to take classes that they would accept.
Can anyone share their experiences with pre-reqs and give me some school suggestions.
Thank you!
Hey! I'm in the middle of this, too. I've taken classes from a hodge podge of places. I'm taking Chem at LaGuardia, I took microbio at University of New England online (http://www.une.edu/com/online/micro/) - which actually turned out to be a great class! I also took A&P online though my old community college in VA (http://eli.nvcc.edu/).
You can cobble them all together, but it has taken me a long time to do it since I work full time and can only take one class per semester. But, I saved a ton of money and am now applying for the accelerated programs! I've applied to Rutgers, NYU, and Pace.
Best of luck!
