Where to start?

Hi peds nurses!

I am getting ready to graduate nursing school in a couple of months and peds nursing is one of the areas that I am looking into. I used to work at a pediatric hospital as an aide and have no problem working with kids. My question is did you start out as a pediatric nurse or work somewhere else first for experience before transitioning to pediatrics? Any thoughts/input would be helpful!

Thanks!

I have only ever worked pediatrics. I hate adults.

As one who loves variety, Peds is different than Adults. If you want Peds go for it; if you can't get Peds,

Adults is not so bad to start off in.
