I think postpartum would be a good place as a new grad (also I don't have experience in the other specialities). You get a good mix of taking care of moms and babies. A good majority of your role will be to educate parents. Our unit takes on a lot of new grads.
Whichever you decide, I wish the best for you!
Hey there! I'm trying to see if I could get some info about the NACE exam! I see that you were going to SAC LPN-RN and I'll be doing the same for Jan 2025. If you wouldn't mind letting me know if the practice test on the NLN was similar to the actual entrance exam? And any info you have about the program itself scheduling wise would be awesome! Thank you and sorry I know you were also looking for other info just couldn't figure out how to respond to your other comments

Nurses your guidance is appreciated 🫶🏼💞. Im trying to find my "niche" in nursing & undecided which specialty to go into as a new grad. I have interest in:
OB/PEDS:
Where would you recommend starting off in this specialty to "get your feet wet" (for ex, postpartum or ect.)? L&D sparks my interest. However, I don't know if I will feel ready for it as a new grad? What are your thoughts?
ONCOLOGY:
Oncology is also something I have interest in. Is it new grad nurse friendly? What has your experience been like? Down the road after some experience I'm thinking of taking my education further to become a GYN Oncology Nurse Practitioner. However, I'm in the mindset of I have to "first learn how to walk before I can run" so your wisdom & guidance is appreciated 🙏🏼
