  1. Hi! anyone here gone through or currently going through SAC's RN to BSN online program? Im wondering how difficult or hard is it? Does it take away alot of your time like an ADN program does? I've always heard online programs in general are more about writing papers, quizzes, discussions, etc? And not so much of exam/test's the way ADN programs are? Is this true? Is the program doable while working full time? What are your expediences? How are the teachers? Please & thank you in advance.
  2. Nurses your guidance is appreciated ?. Im trying to find my "niche" in nursing & undecided which specialty to go into as a new grad. I have interest in: OB/PEDS: Where would you recommend starting off in this specialty to "get your feet wet" (for ex, postpartum or ect.)? L&D sparks my interest. However, I don't know if I will feel ready for it as a new grad? What are your thoughts? ONCOLOGY: Oncology is also something I have interest in. Is it new grad nurse friendly? What has your experience been like? Down the road after some experience I'm thinking of taking my education further to become a GYN Oncology Nurse Practitioner. However, I'm in the mindset of I have to "first learn how to walk before I can run" so your wisdom & guidance is appreciated ??

  4. Im interested in applying as well I had asked the office at SAC for LVN to RN and mention: Program: Days only, not nights available Lectures : online Labs/Skills: In Person - Days Clinical: Days, can be anyday from M-F, but sometimes on occasion its offered on Saturday but majority of time M-F. They were not to specific but I looked on the online registration and there was not much going on, on weekends. Im assuming its only if theres not many clinical options and worse comes to worse then they go with Saturday. SPC - im not to familiar with their RN Program, but they offer day program only, not evenings as currently (2023). Im not sure how their weekends look like. But I was in their lvn program and they offer Saturday clinicals forsure.

  6. Hi ? Just wondering if you got in after all? Im looking to apply and had a question on how the class schedule roughly looks like. For example, when are clinical and lab days from your own personal experience. For example Mondays, Tuesdays, etc? Time frame? I know this veries and can change at any moment. And I've heard all class lectures are online.
  7. Thank you so much for the information ?? Im glad the VA gives opportunities for their employees to expand their education. Im going to look into their requirements of the program to get RN degree. Thank you once again. God bless you.
  8. Hi all, I am a new grad LVN, looking to work at the VA hospital - San Antonio, TX. I just had a few questions. Background: I have not personally served in the military, but I do have a few relatives who have. Not sure if this affects me during interview or hiring process. I appreciate your response and help in advance. 1. What helpful advice would you give me (hiring process, nursing floor, etc). I really don't know what to expect since im a newbie ?. 2. What is on average the pay start for new grad LVNs? 3. Im also looking to continue my education to get my RN license. I hear they offer benefits/scholarships to continue your education. Are these opportunities available to military employees only or are civilian employees allowed to apply? What is the process and requirements to apply? (For ex, must be a VA employee for at least a year, only allowed to apply to public schools or are private schools acceptable, etc?) 4. If selected to receive educational benefits/scholarships will it affect me to change from full-time to part-time to pursue my education while working at the VA? Please and thank you in advance.
  9. I'm looking to buy that book and was wondering if they have the desired/have or ordered/have method. I'm not a big fan of dimensional analysis lol
  10. Hello all, I was wondering if any one can give some advise on how they passed nursing school exams. What textbooks or resources did you all use to improve your grades since you first started taking nursing exams? Also for those that are familiar with ATI what resources did you use to pass the ATI exams? Any advise helps. Please and thank you for your time. Have a wonderful day!(:
