Where to shadow under a nurse in the AUGUSTA, Ga area?

I'm just wondering where I can shadow/volunteer to get more insight about the nursing field in the Augusta, ga area, and to make sure this is really what I would like to do. My mother is a respitory therapist at GRU, and tried getting me to shadow under a nurse there. She found a nurse that agreed to do it, and everything, but the hospital wouldn't allow me to do it... Something about the shadowing program not being available at the moment?! I don't know... I'd just like to know where I could shadow, and or the best places to do so! Thanks! :)

Try the VA hospital.

I think GRU only allow doctors to be shadowed, but anyway, I don't know too much about shadowing, however I volunteered at GRU for months and was able to network with a lot of RN's. So, I recommend volunteering somewhere if you have the time. Shadowing gives you one day, but volunteering allows you to see and do a lot more. Good luck!
