Where do I take CLEP exams?

I found on the CLEP website today that I would have to go to a University to take the tests. I'm wondering if I would have to enroll in that particular school b/c they also mentioned that for the English Composition, a professor would have to read and grade essays and whatever other paper I would have to write.

Is this correct? What has been your experience with CLEPs.

You can take it at any university or community college that offers cleps, without being enrolled there.

If you are going to take the English clep, make sure the school uses a professor to grade it and not a computer program (which is just not as good). I believe English is the only one that requires any writing, and then it is just an essay or two (be sure to use some good vocabulary, as that is one of the critera).

It depends on the university or college. Some offer CLEP tests only to their students, others are open to anyone.
