Where to find a pink lab coat?

anyone?

I've looked (what seems like) everywhere online, I called a few stores, and I did a search here...

My MIL mentioned wanting one, so I thought it'd make a nice Christmas present. I did actually find pink lab coats at http://www.sassyscrubs.com- but holy cow! $65.95! plus shipping! :o I was hoping to pay about half that. I'll go to sassyscrubs as a last resort but I feel like there's probably a really obvious place that I overlooked. (and I tried ebay!) thanks to anyone who can help!

I dont know where to buy one in pink but you could get a white one and dye it. There is a company called Dharma Trading, http://www.dharmatrading.com that I can recommend as offering very good quality white clothing items and dyes.

They specialize in tiedye, batik, silk painting, and other textile art supplie, and their service is good.

I know that I wanted a tie dye scrub top a couple of years ago...I love tiedye!! and could not find one anywhere...had to do some tiedye shirts for our VBS that summer, so I ordered a plain white scrub top and some dyes from them. voila!!! The results were very good...I have had lots of comments and actually considered starting a sideline business in tiedye scrubs, but my ideas way outstripped my available time.

If you do go that route make sure that it is 100% cotton. Natural fibers absorb and retain the dyes much better. (yes, they can be machine washed and dried)

As an alternative, if you sew or are at all crafty you could get a regular white lab coat and put some pink trim on it (i.e. maybe pink ribbon outlining the collar and/or pockets)

try any of these sites, or your local med supply store:

http://www.allheart.com

http://www.lydiasuniforms.com

http://www.jasco.com

http://www.jcpenneys.com (they have a few)

I dont have time to look for sure to make sure they have a pink one (off to work nowww)- But I do know BARCO makes solid color tops and you should be able to find one at one of these sites!!

Good luck!

Or you could dye it pink the old-fashioned way--have your husband or your son do your laundry. Make sure that in addition to the white lab coat, they throw in a few pairs of red socks. Oh, and make that hot water wash.

Yes, I speak from experience.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! mtnmom, I mulled over dying a lab coat but doing stuff like that tends to lead to disaster for me. :chuckle

I decided to get her a cotton candy pink jacket-y type thing from lydiasuniforms.com. (thanks MeghanRN!) and I got her name embroidered on it. :) It's cute!

thanks again!
