i dont want to speculate on anything because im not familiar with the new rules for the FCCA. but 8weeks seems like a long time to complete it. when i first signed up to take info literacy, it said it was an eight week course. but i completed it in like 30minutes. not sure if the new FCCA is going to be the same way, but i hope so. i know excelsior college is fielding a lot of phone calls re this. perhaps you can speak with someone there. but i know sometimes the person answering the phone is clueless. good luck to you. hope its not as eight weeks as their making it out to be.:)
I spoke to my advisor about the computerized version of the FCCA the other day when I enrolled (thankfully) for the paper version...She confirmed that it is an eight week class, with "weekly" assignments to be completed. She didn't indicate if you could finish the class early, but did say that it would be a scheduled thing with only certain times to sign up. I'm sure more details will come out as students here on allnurses have to start doing it. Glad I made it in under the wire myself...

I see all this talk about the new FCCA class and I was wondering where I would be able to find info on it. I don't think excelsiors website is the most user friendly for info. I'm hoping to get two of the tests done within the next 4 weeks, that would leave me 5 more before FCCA. I want to have most of this done by this fall, so all I have to do is wait for the CPNE by the time my BF gets home. I'm nervous I'll have to wait to take this computer FCCA thing first. Do I have to wait to get done with FCCA before I can ever sign up for CPNE?
This stuff is kind of confusing to me.
