In this economy I don't see where you're going to find FREE CNA Training. You might find a place here in the Bay Area, but I have yet to hear of it. Most adult schools and some community colleges offer it. Here is a link that might help you get started. Good Luck.

This is a little out of the way but surely if Napa county is offering free training then hopefully other counties will follow soon! I found this posted on http://www.cnatips.com/classes/nursing-aide-ca.php

Message: A free nursing assistant program is currently offered by the Regional Occupational Program in Napa Valley for California residents interested in the health care field. Admission criteria include: passing a reading test, submitting to a mandatory fingerprinting process to verify your criminal background, being at least sixteen years old, and showing proof of completing a 10th grade education. There are no fees for the CNA program tuition, but adult students are responsible for covering any expenses associated with necessary course materials, fingerprinting, and registration fee. Nursing Assistant students have the option to apply for scholarships to cover the cost of the California CNA exam as well as to pursue further education. If you are interested, you may contact the ROP office to inquire about program enrollment and upcoming course schedules. Napa County ROP phone number: (707) 253-6830.
thanks very much adamlynn30 for the info. however i'm not lucky to take that free class. cos it would take me about 1 hr and 23 min. (based on map driving direction) to get there...but i'm taking the bus so it probably take 3 hr or more. anyway, just found a class and enrolled in which cost $995 for 6 wk...i know it's expensive but that's the only short program and the only one i can found in my area. by the way, kinda sad tat i couldn't find any free class in my city...i know other city does in ca.

thanks adamlynn30 for the information about napa valley rop,
i called them with high hopes but was informed that the free cna training is no longer available to adults, only high school students. sad...it sounded so good too!
i am even willing to drive to sacramento for free cna training, but sacramento rop's training for 3/15-6/10 is full =(
