Hey all! ICU nurse here looking to head to Arizona for the snowbird season in January and wanted to get your opinion of where to avoid or where to try to go. Current assignment doesn't end until Dec but thought I'd get a head start on the hunt. I'm hoping to actually avoid Phoenix and would really love Tuscon, but anywhere will do. Also, if anyone has opinions on being a Banner internal traveler please do share your experiences! Thanks in advance!

My first assignment was at Yuma Regional Medical Center. They utilize travelers and seasonal especially during their snowbird season. I was there Feb-May. Nothing to do in Yuma but not far from San Diego or Vegas. I lived 15minutes from the border. St. Mary's in Tucson uses seasonal nurses. I'm not sure about travel. I will be there as seasonal from December-June 2013.

I traveled to Tucson last year and worked at Tucson Medical Center. The hospital wasn't the greatest, I work ICU and floated a ton, but Tucson itself was amazing.

you can try banner they have several facilities they can place you in phoenix. They hire you directly as a nurse traveler so no middleman.
