I am very interested in becoming a Legal Nurse Consultant. I have four years of experience in medical/surgical nursing, one year in the operating room, and a year of medical record review experience. I am looking at certificate programs but am unsure which way to go. Is there a benefit to one over the other? I read that the AALNC requires 2000 hours of experience before sitting for the certification exam. What is the difference between this certification and the Vickie Milazzo certification which you can take after six days? There is definitely a big difference in price. Any direction on how to get started both education and business wise is appreciated. I have done a lot of research both on this forum and other places, and now I am left with a lot of questions.

The certificate received via Vickie Milazzo course is just a certificate of completion. It is not certification.
The exam offered by AALNC is the only certification examination in the filed endorsed by the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC) and accredited by the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC).
What is the certification exam you take at the end? I read that you could use the CLNC abbreviation after you finish the Vickie Milazzo course. Is this a specific certification just for that course?
