For the past 3 months or so, the schedule A nurses on the Skilled Workers portion of the Visa bulletin have vanished. Previously, it was just unavailable. Some say because of the retrogression. Is there really a retrogression?
Can u please share any light on this and on when will it possibly end.
Any ideas shared on this is greatly appreciated.
Thnaks a mucho..

We currently have a couple of threads mentioning this the main one is immigration up date. Yes there is a retrogression and no one really knows at the moment when it will end but currently everyone is affected
thanks for the reply. I just read the other threads.

None of this is new information. It has been discussed here since last summer. We all knew that it was coming, just were not sure the exact days of when it would start and who would be included. We did know for sure that nurses from the PIC Countries and Mexico for sure would be included, just did not expect all nurses to be included for the most part.

you are always so sincere in answering our questions. I trust you more than a prestigious lawyer. based on your past experience, what was the longest waiting time for PIC nurses during retrogression? what will be the longest waiting time before the lifting of retrogression for PIC nurses at this time?
thanks always for your honesty!:crash_com

Thank you for the nice note. I just pick alot of brains and do not limit my sources. And do a ton of reading.
The retrogression last year was about seven months, give or take a few weeks. The wait time can be much longer as agencies and employers can delay the paying of visa fees, etc. until they know what is going on. And we are seeing alot of that right now. But the US State Dept has now removed the Schedule A from the Visa Bulletin beginning with the February issue. The April issue will be out in just a couple of days, but do not expect anything new at this time.
There are meetings and meetings and meetings going on in Washington DC right now, but only hearsay as to what will pass and what will not. Do not expect anything to get thru until sometime in April at the earliest, if even then. It is already the second week of March, and nothing is even close to making it thru House of Representatives or Congress at this point. The bill must make is thru one, and then get approved by the other. And once final approval is given, it is minimum of three months before those visas from that will be available.
As far as those from the PIC countries, not sure at all with those. There is such a large number that is trying to get out of PI, that the wait for them may be longer. People are always mentioning the PD, but I really do not base anything on that, and look more towards the approval of the DS-230 before giving any guess on timeframe. Visa numbers are not issued until the DS-230 has been approved, it is not done with the I-140 approval, as many think. The PD just gives you a priority under certain situations, such as if you were submitted for another visa by lets say a family member six years ago or longer. Then they are accepting the PD date from that to be used for the "nursing" green card and that will get some thru sooner.
Hope that this helps.
Thanks Suzanne very much for your reply!
good luck to all nurses!
You are very welcome.
