When to take boards (CRNA)

I was just wondering what your thoughts were regarding the time frame of when to take boards after graduation. I would like to take mine sooner than later but I want to make sure I am prepared at the same time. Any helpful advice would be appreciated.

Absolutely as soon as possible. You will never know as many of the specific details as you do when you graduate. That being said you will develop greater understanding of the managment of patients as you practice over the years.

I am taking mine 2nd week in Jan, graduated dec. I wanted time to study but not waiting too long seems to be the consensus. How many times did you guys get through MM and sweat book?

sweat book once, memory master once (waste of time).

I disagree I just took my exam and the both the sweat book and memory master are well worth reading and helped to answer many questions. The valley class however may be skipped without consequence. UR

I 100% agree about the valley class...can definately be missed w/out consequence. As far as the books, I think the MM is better than the sweat book, but both are pretty helpful. I studied through both of them only once...i didn't just blaze through them though; took my time. You could know all of the info in both books & from my experience, there will be a lot of stuff on the test that's not covered in the two. Hopefully you get enough questions that are covered in the books so you can miss the 1s that aren't & still be okay.
