When did you start using NCLEX review books??

Hey Everyone!

I'm in my first semester of nursing school and just had my first exam in fundamentals today.. AHHH!! I felt like I studied enough and I knew the material but every time I got to a question and felt like I knew it, I would see another answer that totally made sense too. This got me so hung up! I don't think I did well now just because I second guessed myself soooo much. Will a nclex book help with this? I do all of the practice questions at the end of the chapter but I feel like I need something to supplement it. Is it too early for these types of book? If not, which ones do you recommend?

Specializes in Pediatrics.

Just a quick note to add on Saunders: from everything I've heard, it is a great book for content review while in school. But it isn't the greatest for NCLEX exam prep because the questions aren't quite as hard. I plan to get the Davis and Kaplan books and well as Prioritization, Delegation, & Assignment sometime before/during my senior year.

I have seen people solely use Saunders to study from and pass the NCLEX. Different materials will work for different people. Whatever works! :)

My best resources so far have been the Saunders Review book and NCLEX 4000. I would talk to your professors they may have other books that they recommend as well. Good luck in nursing school.
