When staff knows more then the DON

The DON at my facility knows how to delegate and that is it. She has no real clinical background and can hardly make a decision. Instead of utilizing home health care she sends our nurses out to do a home care nurse's job and this leads to incomplete work at our facility. How do we address this? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seems clear to me she's in home care and her don doesn't have clinical experience and leaves them in the field hanging.. I'm a Don (in home care) and love to go in the field and train, the patients love the attention too.

Would love to hear what nurses want more from their Don's?? meetings,,,,ugh,,,,office clinical experience. in the field training? Some don't like criticism on nursing notes...oops
