Since I'm in the Navy I knew months in advance where I was going to be stationed. Alot of my friends that I graduated with knew a month or so before graduation about jobs that they had applied for.
I would talk to your NM; just to make sure she/he knows you are very interested in the job.
I agree....letting her know you are still very interested in the job is a good thing. (do I sound like Martha Stewart??)
During my last semester of senior year, I was still on the fence about where I wanted to work. I wanted geriatrics but also wanted hospital experience. The hospital associated with my diploma program has a very large geriatric population so I got both!
i didn't like nursing at first.when i was studying,it was just pedia and psych which i enjoyed so i had an idea where i want to go after graduation.our school is affiliated with the hospital so i applied in our hospital after(a lot of the graduates did that to get the experience). with your application,i think it's better to follow it up so that they would know that you are very much interested with the job.
I completed school in California in October of last year and didn't have a job lined up. I moved to a different state the next month.
Since I took my NCLEX for California and endorsed it into the new state, the process took 4 lengthy months before I received a temporary license and was able to start working. Once I actively started my job search, however, I found a job the next day by applying in person.

When did you know where you were going to work? Was it during your last semester of school? I'm curious as to how many people have a job secured and lined up prior to graduation- I graduate in Dec, if all goes well...
I posted a question over on the general discussion board asking if I should call the NM where I'm a tech and ask about my application status. I interviewed almost 2 weeks ago and delivered a thank you note, but I haven't heard a word. She's very new to our ICU, only been there a couple of months so I don't want to bug her, but I'm worried because I haven't applied anywhere else.
Anyone here have any suggestions? Should I call her or wait it out? I'm working on Thurs, should I ask her then?
Thanks for all your input!
