When do healthcare benefits start?

Just wondering when healthcare benefits take effect. Is it when you sign the dotted line after being told you have been accepted? Is it the day you swear in/take the oath? Is it the day you start Officer Candidate School? What is usually the time frame between being told that you have been accepted and swearing in? I'm three weeks from submitting my application, and I'm trying to plan out scenarios (which include putting in my notice assuming I get accepted). My recruiter has been difficult to get a hold of due to the holidays. TIA!

Is this for active duty or Reserves?

Pretty sure it's when you report for initial training, as in the first day for which you are paid. That's how it was for me in the Army, anyway.

Hello Pixie,RN! I have recently been accepted as a 66T and will be commissioning soon and headed to DCC and BOLC this summer (hopefully). Do you know if healthcare benefits for my family will start when mine do or if they will have to wait? Thank you in advance!

Should be at the same time. Make sure you take all the appropriate documents to BOLC (birth certs, marriage license) so you can get them enrolled in the system.
