If a patient requires a medication TDS (AC) what times should be written on the med chart to show when nures should give the med? (No idea what the med is..this is the only info provided - (med calculations revision question for student). Hope someone can help.:)

i'm totally guessing here, but does tds=threedosages? now if it does, i would translate it to mean three dosages before meals...possibly 0730,1130,0430. just my hunch.

TDS? Never heard of that abbreviation. Usually if a MD wants three doses given, they would write so and so medication, the strength, the route, the frequency x3 doses.
For example: Torodol 30 mg IVP Q6 hr x3 doses.
If you don't understand an order, call the MD and ask them to clarify.
In Australia TDS is used all the time. It means three times a day.

ah.
that would be our "tid".
so 3x/day, before meals, would be 7:30, 11:30 and 4:30.

oh ok. No wonder I was confused hehe. We just have different standard abbreviations.
