When is enough A-NOUGH?

i'm right there with you!! i also graduated in August and will be writing my NCLEX-RN on Jan 20 toooo :rotfl: ....wanna know something else too? i'm not scoring too hot on the practice exams...my average is 65%....it's tough, but you have a few more days to review your areas of weakness...as for me, i suck at pharmacology! there are just waaaay too many non-specific side effects for sooo many drugs that i can't possibly remember everything....so i've decided that after spending about 6-7 hours of reviewing/doing practice questions each day that i'm just gonna have to 'wing' this darn NCLEX......i don't think anyone could ever feel fully prepared to take this exam.....i think if you continue to do what you're doing, it should be fine!! sounds like most people on this forum have been scoring around 60-70% on practice exams...even though it doesn't sound very high, lots of people are passing the NCLEX on the first try!! just keep at it and we can do it together!!! we should keep each other posted on our results!! the NCLEX is just 5 days away :uhoh21: GOOD LUCK

I just took a practice test from my Kaplan book. Out of 180 questions I got 118 right. Unfortunately, the cd doesn't tell me what that means. I felt like some of the questions were very easy and some I just didn't know! I'm also using saunders and some other study guides.

You know, my weaknesses are EVERYTHING......lol...the few things I thought I was really bad at, are my strengths, which is BEYOND me! Pharmacology is REALLY ROUGH, especially since I took it VERY long ago...in like 2003 summer of that is...but somehow I can break it down to the right 2 choices, but the best one-that is the grace of the Nursing Gods! lol....If you need to chat, I am here...I am away from ALL of my fellow classmates whom have already taken the test w/ flying colors so I feel stranded......Good Luck to you..I am cheering for ya!

I am doing the Lippincott's Review tonight and I keep setting the # of questions to like 20-I cannot stand taking ALL of them UGH! Saunders HA-I do real good on that one about 50% lol it is just AWFUL-I want to puke

By the time my NCLEX exam approached I was sick of studying and a couple days before the test I stopped doing practice questions because I was so sick of doing them I was finding myself not reading the questions completely

and that can be dangerous on your NCLEX exam. The last couple of days I just read the review book.

A friend of mine did the same, she stopped 3 days before and just reviewed-I am just so nervous, dont think that I studied at ALL enough..and I am not doing good on the practice tests, if I take 10 questions at a time I do WONDERFUL same with 20 even, but if I do over 50 whoot I am doing awful-I am not sure why, I think I am neverous, stressed, and will take your idea-I guess the worse thing is taking it more than once then that is okay with me-it shouldt be this stressful!

i find myself procrastinating more and more each day....i try to do a full practice exam with a minimum of 75 questions and i just CAN NOT sit through the entire thing without being distracted.....i decided that i am not going to do any test questions what-so-ever the day before the NCLEX....i am just going to de-stress and sleep early....heck, i'll probably go shopping too and by myself something nice!

That gives you a 65% on that particular test. The comprehensive tests at the end of most study guide books are set up to give the proper percentage of test questions from each category of the client needs: Safe, Effective Care Environment; Health Promotion and Maintenance; Phycosocial Integrity, and Physiologic Integrity. You should be able to judge your areas of strength/weakness based on your performance in each area as the client needs category should be listed with the rationales. If you are scoring below 75% in any particular area, you probably need to focus more attention there.
