What's wrong with me?

This is so frustrating... I'm testing for the NClex-RN on Friday, and i'm doing absolutely nothing!!

I know you are supposed to take the day before to relax and get yourself together, but since yesturday I've been feeling soooo burned out, that I completely stopped.:uhoh3: I have been studying non stop for this exam, literally night and day, and now that im days away, I cant find the motivation to even look at one video/book/flashcard. ahhhhhhhh :crying2:

I think this test is making me crazy.... my anxiety is through the roof, everytime I think about it I start getting palpitations..:redbeathe I keep trying to force myself to study, at least for today.. but I don't think I'm retaining anything.

I dont know any relaxation techniques. nobody in my family knows im going to take my test( too nervous to tell them), so I can't even talk to them about it. (sorry for the rambling, just needed to vent)

anyone else getting pshychotic?

Hi L, I know how you feel, I still have a couple weeks to go, but I have decided not to tell any family or friends......the last time I told everyone, they had me praying to God, Jesus, Allah, the NCLEX God's, rubbing Buddah's belly, fasting and even sacrificing a few chickens........by the time I got to my test day, I was a nervous wreck........this time my approach is all different.......I have told no one, I have studied, I am well prepared or at least as prepared as you can be for this test.

I say take today off and maybe have a go at questions again tomorrow, because I find when my mind starts to wonder, aint nothing gonna stick.......

Oh, when I got my ATT letter a couple weeks ago, I thought for sure I was gonna go into a cardiac arrest, luckily, I have calmed down. Stick to your test strategies, and remember priorities, and you will do great!!

Good luck, let us know how you did......

Thanks Kazza, your post made me crack up! :D (sacrificing chickens, lol) I don't think I've laughed in 2 weeks.

Keep me in your prayers, I'll let you know how it went.

You are most welcome, as long as you have put the work in, you will do great.......the last couple of times I did the test, I thought I could skate by on minimal effort, this test requires that you put in a little ground work.

You got this......I cant wait to hear the good news.

I know this one test is all consuming, however, dont forget to laugh.......

My plan when I roll into that center on July 9th, is to curse out that damn computer, and kindly advise it that it will not beat me.........

Laughing is good advice! When a friend told me how nervous she was to take her CRNA exam, I told her to think of me. I grinned at her and pulled up my pantlegs a little so she could see my socks. I'd been in a hurry that morning and put on unmatched socks. We shared a good laugh, and she told me later that helped her get through her exam successfully.

Watch a comedy movie, some funny videos on YouTube, whatever it takes. (actually, try this YouTube video, Tim Hawkins and old rock star songs, hilarious! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnPINGavPP0 )

Best of luck on your exam!

Maybe you needed this rest. A couple of days isn't going to hurt you if it is truly rest. Good luck on Friday.

OP..I was just like you and that's when I knew it was just time to take the NCLEX and be done with it. The week before my test I started getting all anxious and down right sick, so what I did was reschedule it for the very next day. Took it, cut off at 75 questions and recieved my license 2 days later. Oh, this was June 6 that I took it, so I remember all too well the feelings you describe. In my opinion it just means your ready! I wish you the BEST!;)

Sometimes I think that's the best way to do. Give yourself a few days off and let your brain sort out all the information that you have taken in over the past few weeks. I think you'll find that your brain will feel less crammed full of lab values and more organized.

I think you'll do fine.

I'm testing tomorrow. Good luck!
