I am working on some prereqs for a LVN-BSN program. What does your study schedule look like? I have 2 small children, and work 32+ hours a week (which I have dropped a few days some weeks to allow for more study time, next week I work 3 days.) So how does everyone juggle it all? I find I am so tired after I put the kids to bed that I have a hard time staying up alot of the time

You are going to have a really hard go of it - but, the task is not impossible. You should read this thread.
I follow a very similar approach as the hyperlinked thread above - with the exception that I glance over the book(s) prior to lecture. After lecture, I expand on the topics covered using the text. I'd say I spend about 2-3 hours a day studying - with the exception of Saturday. I don't study on Saturdays unless I have a test the following week.
Best of luck to you. It sounds like you have a very demanding schedule already but it can be done. Will it be possible to cut down on your work hours once you start nursing school? If so, I would do it.

I do the same. I skim over readings before lecture. After lecture I expand more using the text. After that it reviewing the ppts., flash cards, nclex questions, and listening to the recorded lecture. I also do case studies too. So far its worked and thankfully I never failed an exam. I study 1-2 hours per day. No kids though.

i have three kids (ages 9, 8 and 4) and im spending about 25 hours a week studying. Its very hard for me to study late as well because once the kids are asleep i have to go to sleep too otherwise I cant concentrate in class the next day. I do all my study time at school in quiet place or at work where there are no children begging for my attention :) it CAN be done when you want it bad enough you make it work!
