What's your NP focus

Published

So I am currently in the FNP program at South University. I chose FNP as I wasn't quite sure where my focus would end up and didn't want to limit myself to adults in case I decided later to d Peds or Neonates.

I have narrowed my focus some but am curious about what others have chosen / or think they will choose.

My top choices are Neonatal, Diabetes, Oncology/Hospice or Ortho. I know....wide range, huh?

Specializes in Home Health, Podiatry, Neurology, Case Mgmt.

I will be starting my FNP courses in March at Simmons College online...I too didn't want to limit myself to an age group which is why I chose family practice over anything "specialized" starting out. I figure by the time I do my clinicals and see different areas I will get a sense of where I belong and what brings me the most satisfaction. For a long time I've wanted to work with Active Duty and/or Veterans; but I have been interested in pedi as well as hospice. LOL...I'll just ride it out and decide later what area if most fitting for me! =)
