What's my next step?

Hello, currently I am a CNA working in an Assisted Living/Memory Care setting. I am having a hard time deciding if I truly want to become a nurse. I love my job as a CNA but I don't know what to do next. I am a sophomore in college working my degree through Pre-health Science. I was deciding after getting my A.S. Degree I would try the Ultrasound Tech. Program but now I am debating whether to do that or try an LPN Program. How did you guys start when becoming an LPN? I would love to hear for fellow LPN or those who become a CNA. Thank You!

first- why do you want to become a LPN? Is it because you work with them, you just want to move up in the same field?

Why ultrasound tech?

Those are 2 very different areas of medicine, so first think what's going to make you happier in the long run....

I've always wanted to be in medicine. When I was younger I wanted to be a pediatrician, I got older and realized how much school that was and I was like nope... then my mom got diagnosed with Breast Cancer and I saw HOW MUCH Nurses really helped us! We saw a nurse more than a doctor. After that I wanted to become a nurse. It took me forever because I made good money in a non nursing job, I didn't want to step down and go back to school, but I finally did and I am happier than ever, working my dream job.

I help people everyday. I love it. I care for my pt, I get happy when I see them getting better and very sad when I hear they went to the hospital or even transferred facilities. I love being a nurse, helping people has always been my passion and what I've wanted to do.

That's my story.
