What's it like living in Arizona

I am thinking about relocating and really need some information for those of you who live in Arizona, what do you like/dislike about it. Is is affordable on a single salary. I was thinking about the Tucson area. Any information would be helpful.

Thank you all so much for your replies. I am currently buried in snow, driving is hell, I slid sideways all the way up the hill to work and I didn't think I would make it. I am definately going to try to transfer and work on getting my AZ license.
