What's a great home health care agency to work for in MI?

Specialties Private Duty

Hello everyone.... Can someone please tell me what home health agency is great to work for as a LPN? I am currently in school pursuing my RN license, and I am looking to work at a home health care agency while in school, but I have no idea of which ones are the better ones to apply for, in regards to pay and employee assignments. Please also advise me if you know of any agencies that are hiring LPNs right now. Any help or input from you guys would be greatly appreciated :-)

Specializes in Pediatric Private Duty; Camp Nursing.

Bayada is fantastic. They have wonderful training programs. They (and most other agencies, but not all) require a year's experience as a nurse elsewhere before they'll consider hiring you.

Specializes in Peds(PICU, NICU float), PDN, ICU.

You can do a search on this site to find out about agencies pros and cons. Also Glassdoor has lots of reviews.

The year of experience requirement is for a few reasons, one being that the state requires that experience to do private duty. The agencies must show proof to the state that its nurses have at least a year of experience.

Thanks so much CloudySue. I will look into Bayada :)

Thanks SDALPN. I'd never heard of Glassdoor before. I learn so much from everyone on this site. I really appreciate you guys. :-)

Dag on it! There aren't any Bayada locations in MI :-(
