Suggestions please! I enrolled in an MSN-CNS program (there was no hands on patient care) after earning my BSN & have no real work experience as a nurse.
After graduating, I fell & broke my leg & then had to have a TKR on my other leg. I'm trying to find a job and feel that I won't be able to manage working on a hospital floor to gain initial experience b/c of ongoing health issues. Any suggestions?

What kind of CNS program has "no hands on patient care"?
Have you thought about looking for jobs in other settings besides acute care? Long-term care, public health?
Welcome to allnurses -- best wishes for your journey!. I'm sorry to hear about your health problems.

Consider extended care home health. Routine care for stable patients in the home setting. Emphasis: one patient. You can explain any limitations to the DPCS or clinical supervisor and they can start you out with some of the less physically demanding cases. Not the most glamorous of nursing jobs, but a nursing job nonetheless.
