So hello all nurses......
I just have a bone to oick. And want to know if others have been in this same position. I have been looking to lpn to rn bridges for a maybe 6 months now and realized that all programs have different requirements. My question is why do the staff, admissions for example..... sound a little flustered when you question the requirements of the program. If you are already a nurse most people want the most noncomplicated way to finish up with their RN. Or at least the one that will be most relevant to them and their situation. I feel like all information to those most detailed way. (Hours of the program, etc should be avaliable online or avaliable upon request. I mean at the end of the day this is something someone is investing their time and money in. Thoughts? Comments?

They should provide a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) area on their websites where they can address many of these questions. If it deters one person from needing to call, it would be worth it, since they seem to be so irked by questions from live prospective students.

I know what you mean and I can agree with both sides. When I am looking at a school, I always check the Nursing Dept info 1st. This is where you will find requirements for the program and frequently asked question page. I do a thorough search thru the schools web page to check out cost, pre-requisite, graduation, transfer info, location and class info. If I still have questions, I contact Counseling Dept 1st. Then I proceed to make an appointment with a counselor and bring all unofficial transcripts with me to any appointment made. Some schools will have the student complete their own educational plan and some schools will only allow a counselor to do it. I always bring a copy of my educational plan to any appointment made and if your educational plan is updated, the counselor will provide an updated copy for you. The educational plan is a nice excel worksheet that has all of your completed classes, classes needed for degree and classes in progress. This process will make your life easier and the admissions dept. Hope this helps!
