What do ya'll think?

I am currently taking a telecourse in Health Care Delivery (an intro allied health co-requisite). It's on videotape. I like it because I can go at my own pace & don't have to make another trip out to campus. I will have to go out there to take the mid-term & final exams at the testing center, but that's it. (well, I'll have to turn in my paper & assignment as well, but that's no big deal since I'm on campus 2 nights a week anyway for another class)

I plan on taking a few other courses this way or over the internet as well.

The only thing is that you have to be diligent in doing the work. It's easy to get lazy/forgetful about doing the work, but if you can put your nose to the grindstone & make sure you complete all the assignments, it's really a nice alternative. :)

I took several that way and enjoyed them. As far as retaining info, it depends on the class & how well you would do if you were sitting in the classroom for that particular class. If it's a hard subject for you anyway, it'll be harder when no one's pushing you to do it.

Hi blklab, welcome!

I took a business class online, I thought it would be easy. But it really required a lot of time and organization skills. If you can keep all your assignments and reading organized, and if you are self motivated you should be fine!

ps- Can't you tape the class yourself from your TV to your VCR? That way you can watch it at your convenience.

RN2bNC, I was just thinking that. Even though I would have to be watching the tv. Tues. and Thurs. when the class was in session, I would think I could record it in case I needed to go back and watch it again. Which may be to my benefit. I have to be on the phone though during the class time. Thanks for the input! Ali
