I'm just starting school, and I am positive that I'm making the right choice by persuing a career in nursing. I've been in hospitals as a patient, and also as a patient's mom; I see what nurses are capable of doing and how they help people, but I worry sometimes about situations I might not be able to handle. My question is; what was the worst experience you've had to deal with as a nurse, and has there ever been a situation you couldn't handle, reguarding a patient and if so what did you do?

Abused child. Not even gonna start with the details. That was worse than most if not all the things I had to deal with as an EMT. I have incredible friends that helped me deal with it though.
