Can anyone describe a typical week of the work they may have to complete or how their program goes with assigning work? Do you mainly do papers? Tests? Projects? Is it hard?

This is really going to vary by program, but in a typical week I had discussion posts (initial post supported by evidence + at least two response posts on at least two different days) as well as assignments in a few of the weeks (papers, PowerPoints, etc.). A lot of this is going to vary by class length, too. I have heard of some places with 5-week courses, and I think that would be a little compressed for me. Others have 15 or 16 weeks, which I found waaaaay too long in my MSN program. I like an 8-week course, personally. Seems like just the right amount.

I'm taking the RN-BSN course with SNHU. So far, I'm on my 3rd class- 1st nursing class right now. No tests so far - mostly discussions and papers. The courses are 8 weeks long and I have an 8-12 page paper due on Easter but for 4 of the weeks we write 2-3 pages on milestones and turn them in and you pretty much combine it all for the final paper.

Thank you for responding.
Do you think the papers are a bit challenging? Do they get picky about content? Like people say they are more concerned about APA than content. Do you feel that your papers are rejected because of what you wrote about?
With my Statistics class, we had a few articles we had to chose from for our papers so we were limited but we didn't have to put thought into it for choices. I managed to pass with a 91 without fully knowing what I was doing.
We could chose our own topic for my nursing class now but she also gave us a list we could choose from so I chose one of those. Its a little rougher but my instructor has been giving us sample milestone papers to use as a guide and it has helped me. She is constantly stressing the importance of APA. I had to buy a book on APA format for the class but I still have yet to open it LOL. I also heard there is a website called PEARLLA that helps or does the formatting for you but it costs $50 a year. I might consider it shortly in the future since my son is also in college and it might help him too
