What do you wish you'd studied better in prereqs?

Published

So I've asked before, what to brush up on before NS - and have rec'd some good information and have done a bit of reading and remembering. To be more specific now that I'm a few weeks from starting - if you wish you had brushed up on any system in physiology or anything at all, what would it have been? Was there anything in your patho or early nursing classes that you thought "shoot, I really should have studied that better" back in A&P, chem, or micro?

Any suggestions are appreciated!!

Thanks :)

Some nursing programs require a Medical Terminology class. It was required for my Paramedic AAS years ago. I'll be transferring to a nursing school end of Summer that requires it. I would highly recommend such a course if it is available to you. It will help you acquire a firm grasp of Greek and Latin roots, etc.

Good question....I am a second year LPN student who definitely needs to brush up on basically all of my previous science courses. I took Chemistry and A&P 1&2 about three years ago and I feel like I have forgotten most of it. I did really well in both classes and labs, but I definitely didn't retain most of it due to my bad study habits. I plan on reviewing my Chemistry and A&P book before starting my second year of the LPN program to brush up on some of what I have forgotten.

Anatomy & physiology, I love the class but it is hard to remember everything. 1 class is not enough. If students spend time reviewing anatomy and physiology, I know that they are going to be excellent nurses.
