Has anybody else received a solicitation in the mail to become involved with this organization. The material lists no names of people behind the organization other than being signed by a RN. Their website healthcareunited.org is vague as well.
I did an internet search and found SEIU was doing the hiring for this organization:

Here's their website - again, it seems to be looking for members and is vague about who they are - no mention of SEIU affiliation.

They are a Union.
They are clever with the name of their organization, especially when they target employees who have their insurance through United Heathcare.

Healthcare United is SEIU. They recently sent out information in Montana with one of my friends signatures. She never gave permission for this and she never signed this. This is how SEIU has been working in Montana. They go behind backs and trying to buy themselves politically. They are taking credit for wage increases and health benefits for attendants that providers did, they had no part in our last legislation but seem to think that they should be credited for what providers, consumers and attendants have done. They are trying to revamp our personal care programs and force attendants to unionize. Montana is already above most states with these programs and we don't want to go back in what we have accomplished. They want cookie cutter services in every state not realizing that each state is unique. I don't feel nurses or attendants should be forced to unionize, SEIU is not a million dollar profit company for nothing. Companies who have signed are with SEIU are the lowest paying attendants in the state and will get healthcare the same time all of the attendants not signed on will get it. Now these attendants pay 3% of their wages. Sounds like a great deal to me!

They sent me an unsolicited email to the account that I only use for allnurses updates. I never give out that email address so they used some web search program to see that I recieve allnurses posts with obvious nursing themes. It even had my real name on the message.
They sent it right about the time that there was an SEIU nurs on here posting hate posts against the CNA. I hadn't looked at the message until this particular nurse kept posting. I got suspicious because she kept posting but it was never about anything except to slander any union other than her own. That's when I looked at the email and checked out the links they sent and found out they were SEIU.
I want to hear the truth from all sides. All I ever get when I get solicitations from the SEIU is mudslinging about the NNOC. The SEIU doesn't even send me stuff that talks up their own good points, they just mudsling everybody else and expect me to think that they are better simply because they say everyone else is worse. That kind of campaign may work with some but not me.
