Hi Everyone!
On Wednesday I start my observership with an Anesthesiologist at a hospital in NYC..I'll be observing the doctor directly.. and I have no idea what I should wear!
When I asked they said "anything." Lol..
Should I wear scrubs? Should I wear business casual? Ahh.. Im so lost.
Help!

If you are shadowing an anesthesiologist, will you be in the OR environment? If so, wear business casual as you will then be required to wear hospital laundered scrubs that you will change into at the facility. Don't bring any valuables, keep the jewelry to a minimum as it shouldn't be worn in the OR.
Thanks for your feedback! :) I'm assuming (and hoping!!) that I will be in an OR environment. But okay.. got it.. so business casual.. no valuables, jewlery to a minimum. Are rings okay? Or should I leave those at home too?

Facility policies vary. Mine is plain bands only, those with stones or engraving are not allowed. Reason being that all those little nooks and crannies can harbor bacteria- something you don't want in a surgical environment. Now, being that you are observing, could you get away with rings? Probably, but use your judgement.

Until you know the policy I would leave rings and jewelry at home. Jewelry in the hospital environment to me just sounds like germs.
