What did you want to be when you grew up?

And did it have to do with nursing?

I had 3 things I wanted to be: A nurse, a scientist, and a special education teacher. I cannot remember a time in my life where I wanted to be something different.

I'm kind of all 3 :) I did a lot of work with special needs people as a nurse. The scientist part comes through with using your nursing judgement and trying to put the pieces together with the Dr. to make a clear diagnosis :) Also, I am attaining my degrees in Psychology and Sociology... social sciences...

A lot of nurses I speak with have wanted to be a nurse, teacher, or vet... So, I'm interested: What did you want to be (who knows, maybe I'll do a research paper on it... LOL)?

When I was 6 yrs old, I told my parents I wanted to be a Planetarium when I grew up. They were so sweet... they told me if thats what I wanted then they would still support me!

Giggle, snort! That is great. Bless your parents for supporting your dreams, no matter how far fetched.

A quantum physicist. I didnt really know what one was, and it was before I realised that I really wasn't a maths genius. It just sounded exciting. Was only little at the time. Heard it on a horizon or equinox program about parallel universes that my Dad watched.

Then when I was about 10 I wanted to be a pathologist, mainly because thats what agent scully was on the x files. I was told that I would have to become a doctor and work with the living first, which for some reason put me off the idea, but no sure why.

Ended up working with the living anyway, and I actually like it! Funny how things come around.

First I wanted to be a train conductor for the Chicago Transportation Authority trains, the L. Then I set the bar higher and changed that to a train conductor that drives trains across country :lol2: . I attribute this lofty dream to seeing the movie White Christmas and watching Bing, Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kaye, and Vera Ellen in the sleeper cars and dining cars. I still really want to go on a train that has sleeper cars :lol2:
