Okay, I was planning everything out and my schooling and I discovered that just to get an associates will take FOUR YEARS!!! Thats right: four years for a two year degree because of all the pre-reqs that I need to do! Is this normal? How long did it take you to get your ADN? I cannot believe this is accurate. Please help me understand what my options are. Is there a separate degree I can get with all the pre-reqs? Is it normal to take 4 years to get an RN? How long did it take you?

Please help me understand what is going on here. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks everyone! I'll be okay with the four years, but I'll keep searching for something that may knock off a semester or two. Still, thanks for the input everyone! Really.

See what courses they will accept as CLEP exams, saves money and time.

The community college I went to right out of HS was one year of full time pre req and 2 years for associates... so 3 years.

But if you are going to spend 4 years doing it, get your BSN for sure. Its a lot of headache to get it later (trust me)
