I am a student who is working as an MA thru school. We had a resident who was complaining of severe pain in right foot that quickly flew to right chest. Res has been in bed for the past week due to depression,etc. Res complained it hurt badly when she would breathe but only on this right side.Res was very diaphoretic, ashen in color.Res POX decreased quickly but was remedied with O2 therapy.No emesis or nausea. Would u think this was possiblly clot related?She had a negative HOman's.The local hospital which I dont like says its a GI bleed! What do u think? :confused:

Possible as in clot or GI bleed? The hospital supposedly checked her out.This hospital is a joke.They send our residents back to us with bogus DX all the time. We had a lady who was c/o dysphagia.Sent her to hospital.They kept her but called to say she was swallowing fine.Shes been there a week while another pt/res had a POX of 74%RA and was clearly in distress.They kept her overnight and sent her back to us where she died within hours! They said she was ok. I give up sometimes....u know what I mean?

Homan's isn't always reliable for clot....

And local hospital maybe incompetent, so why not send to antoher facility?

Our facility only uses this hospital because it is 3 blocks away.Closest hospital besides that is 30-40 minutes away.Didnt think she had time to make it that far!
