Forget about the cheaters. None of the known cheaters in my graduating class passed the NCLEX. The cheaters are only cheating themselves.:uhoh3:

I actually still believe that the cheaters are potentially dangerous to others and not just to themselves. I was passing BP meds, giving injections etc in 1st and 2nd semester. In 2nd they let us pass on our own. What if I had cheated in drug calculations or my medication tests? Stopping cheating in its tracks is important now and in life.

I'm glad you're standing up. We are all adults, and know the rules. The rules of cheating and plagiarism are posted on EVERYTHING at my school, so there is no way someone can't NOT know what the consequences will be. This student does not deserve to be there - period. And I believe since we are all adults, it is our duty to speak up when we see something wrong being done. We teach it to our children. I believe that cheating is no different.

There are too many other ways she could have gone about learning the material, and she knows it.

Good for you standing up for what is right.

I know people who practically cheated all the way through nursing school. It is VERY frustrating. BUt just remember, they can't cheat on the NCLEX. It will be do or die time then. And if they haven't learned anything during nursing school, they are going to have one heck of a time trying to cram it all in in a few short weeks before NCLEX. Don't worry, but they will get theirs in the end, however rude and mean that may sound.

Doesn't sound rude or mean to me at all. NCLEX is the big end-all, be-all, grand Messiah and giant carrot in the nursing school 'regime'. As it should be. you cannot get all of that knowledge in a few short weeks if you haven't been clued in to the mroe important aspects of what the heck is going on here.

Cheaters always hang themselves; if not now, eventually. There's just too much going against them to give them an edge. Concentrate on yourself; know you are doing the best you can by your patients and you will learn so much more your first year out that school will seem like sheltered environment compared to being thrown into floor nursing. Get all the experience for yourself, do all that you are capable of, work in a hospital if possible, and forget the rest. Worry about you.

[i've got people in my A&P that cheat too. In fact, practically the entire class openly cheats b/c the prof. leaves the room. they justify it by saying that the prof. makes the class too hard and wants us to cheat. i know how you feel - it's annoying b/c i bust my butt for the grades - honestly, though, overall i think people that cheat don't do well as a rule overall. it will catch up with them eventually - maybe not this class - but someday.
