I am a new grad as of this month. I have been applying to local and surrounding hospitals. I have gotten nothing but rejections from them.
I did however apply at an office and depending the drug test results got the job. We have not discussed pay but I assume it is on the lower end.
I really want a hospital job. I also know how hard it is get a job. Do I take the office job knowing if I am offered a hospital job I am taking that instead? Seems so wrong.
I am not licensed yet so do you think the denials are from not being an RN yet but rather a GN?
I know a job is a job but I hate to toy the office around. Please help!
Anyone? Please

I don't have my license yet, but I did get one interview but haven't heard anything yet. It does seem like because we are graduates without a license that we get overlooked. There are lots of positions in my area, but I think they are looking for experienced RN's before they settle for a new grad. Since you practically already have the office job, I would take it because if you turn it down then if you don't get any job offers from a hospital then your left with no job. I have applied at all the hospitals that are within 40 minutes from my house and also applied for two office jobs. As new graduates I don't think we can be as picky about jobs because we are the ones with no experience. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

Take the job and keep searching for the hospital job you want. You can do both.

Take the NCLEX stat and get your license. Why haven't you done this already? Then at least your resume will go in the "We need an RN" pile. The "We need a GN" pile is the circular file.
Meanwhile, if someone offers you a job, for godsakes take it, and keep looking for something else if you think you need to.
