What to do?

If you do something you love you will never work a day in your life. I say go with your gut and do what you have always wanted to do. Maybe the psych. position is paying less now but that may not always be the case, and i have learned that money in nursing does not equal happiness with your job. Good luck!

I'm actually in a dilemma I was a med surg nurse for a year and was working nights couldn't take it anymore was ruining my life and when I put my resignation letter in they said they will put me days as an hourly position for 42/hr. i got this Job offer in another psych hospital as part time days chemical dependency too but pay is 31/hr. psych is what I always was drawn too. I honestly don't know what to do :/

Hi! I'm in the same situation... I'm in meg surg and can never see myself doing this long term. Was just offered a ft psych position working with kids, I've loved psych before I became an RN. Needless to say I'm taking it. Life is too short to be anything but happy. I hate dealing with poop pee overworked underpaid working midnight a suck!!! Good luck if you love psych go with your heart!!
